We are planning for our full return in September and we are very keen to have all the children back into school. We are now busy conducting the necessary risk assessments and putting the controls and training in place to enable this to happen as safely as possible. Classes will be organised into their own year group bubbles of up to 30 and we are organising our plans so that our additional staff, that cover SEN support, boosting, PPA cover, Deputy Headteacher cover and Learning Mentor support, are only moving across a maximum of two bubbles. All of these measures will be put in place to reduce risk and to make it easier for the track and trace system to operate effectively. There will be staggered start and end times as well as break and lunch times.
We are also planning a back up system, should the need arise. This will involve Teams and will be based on the model we developed for our year 6’s phased return back in June. They were taught remotely by their class teacher, for part of the day, who has had to remain offsite, alongside adult supervision on site when they are in school.
Please try not to worry about your child’s academic progress. In September, teachers will do what they do best and assess where the children are and teach them accordingly. Teachers have been spending a considerable amount of time carrying out comprehensive hand overs and explaining what work has been covered. We are also organising for booster sessions to take place across the school from September alongside a recovery curriculum.
