MacMillan Coffee Morning
The year 6 did a fantastic job running the Macmillan Coffee Morning, collecting children, handing out cake, cleaning up, etc. Thank you to everyone who attended, donated cakes or sent in money for this amazing charity. Thank you to the Friends of Clavering for organising and serving the teas and coffees, Miss O’Brien for sorting and checking the cakes and Heads of School for delivering their speeches so confidently. We are still counting the donations and there is still time to donate online: http://justgiving.com/CM25063555. Due to your generosity, we are already looking at raising over £400 – THANK YOU!
Year 4 trip to Audley End
Year 4 enjoyed a fantastic trip to Audley End House, stepping back in time to experience life as it was in the Victorian era. Dressed in traditional Victorian attire, the children emersed themselves in history with a guided tour of the house. Throughout the day, the children took part in a variety of hands-on activities with Mrs Warwick, the housekeeper, including shining shoes, folding laundry and setting tables just as the Victorians would have done. They also had great fun playing in the Victorian nursery and exploring the servant’s quarters.
Years 5 and 6 Dodgeball
Well done to year 5 & 6 for the amazing time we had at the dodgeball tournament this week. We split into five teams to play across four courts and everyone had many opportunities to play in lots of games. The yellow and orange bib team’s won their courts, non-bibs, blue and green bibs all came second on their courts – overall a brilliant success! A huge thank you to Mr Snelling and Mrs Neal for all the training and team development and to Mrs Bicknell, Mrs Blundell and Mr Bull for refereeing and supporting the event.

Open Morning
We held an Open Morning today for prospective new parents. The children were a credit to the school showcasing our curriculum and school offer.
Thank you to the Friends of Clavering for providing the refreshments
Heads of School
The Heads of School are working hard. They introduced themselves to the parents at our recent MacMillan Coffee Morning. They have also collected all the pupil responses around ideas for further equipment at lunchtime, which they will act upon. They were also a credit to the school welcoming prospective new parents during our Open Morning today.
Parent Consultations
Thank you to all the parents that were able to attend Parent Consultations last week. We hope you found them informative. We hope you also found the opportunity to meet with the SENCO to discuss SEN Learning Plans beneficial. We will put this in place for the Spring Term Parent Consultations.
Harvest assembly
Last Thursday we held a special harvest celebration in which the whole school took part. Each class prepared work connected to harvest or Autumn and shared their work. We had songs, poems, artwork, information about harvest around the world and readings about what we are thankful for. We all sang a harvest favourite of “Conkers” together. We talked a lot about others who are less fortunate than us.
The harvest food donations were on display and have now been packed up and collected by Uttlesford Food Bank. A huge thank you for your kind donations.

Thank you to Mrs Green for organising the brilliant book sale which has helped to raise funds for new topic books for all classes across the school. The children enjoyed choosing books from a huge selection, paying a pound per text. Due to the amazing generosity of the families at Clavering, we have managed to raise over £300! Thank you again to Mrs Green and to Miss Shield for running the successful event.
