A nearly five-hundred-year-old book comes to assembly!

On Tuesday this week Rev. Gary took our school assembly along the theme of ‘Books’. He spoke about the Bible and why it is important to him. We learned that Bible is a Greek word meaning ‘collection’. There are 66 separate books in the Bible. Rev. Gary showed us three Bibles and invited children to come up and describe them – what did they look, feel and smell like? The children gave outstanding answers noticing the quality of the print, thickness of the pages, the covers and how the books were bound. We were all amazed to learning that one of the Bibles was nearly 500 years old!!! WOW, what a piece of history.
Thank you, Rev. Gary, and well-done children for your thoughtful responses and super listening.
