Friendship Week, Languages Day and MacMillan Coffee Morning
Hats off to Clavering Primary School!
Clavering Primary School enjoyed a very busy Friendship Week last week, with activities organised in their House Groups each day. The activities related to Art, Drama, Music Composition and Sport. Problem solving and team building also featured and Year 6 proved outstanding in their role as buddies and Playleaders for the younger children encouraging and supporting them throughout the week.
The week culminated on Friday when Languages Day was celebrated and the Year 6 children organised a MacMillan Coffee Morning in the form of a French café, which was well attended by parents. The parents were greeted by the children in French and the café menus were also hand written in this style. The morning was very well supported and so far £420 has been raised to support the MacMillan charity.
The rest of Languages Day was also a success. The children had all made hats to represent countries where different languages are spoken which, they paraded in assembly. Class teachers and parents led activities in French, Spanish, Russian, Dutch, Italian, Romanian and Turkish.
We would like to thank all the parents that supported the week with donations of money ,cakes, attended the coffee morning and led language activities. The children had an excellent week that enriched their understanding of the world in which we live in.
MacMillan Coffee Morning
Year 6 would like to thank everyone who supported their Macmillan coffee morning. It was a wonderful way to complete our Friendship week and we are proud to have raised just over £420 for Macmillan.
