Football Reports
On Thursday 5th March after school Clavering football team played St Mary’s of Stansted.
The game was 7 aside on a very boggy pitch! but the sun was shining.
The game started well and Elliot Wood soon scored a goal this was followed by St Mary’s scoring a goal. The play was very even although Clavering performed better with their experience and skill as a team. There was then another brilliant goal by Max West scored from a corner after the ball was deflected out to him. This made the half time score 2-1 to Clavering.
In the second half Elliot scored another goal almost immediately. This made the opposition more confident and some good football was played but Clavering still had the upper hand until almost the end when St Mary’s scored again. The final score was 3-2 to Clavering.
Matt the football coach was extremely proud and delighted with the team as they all played extremely well. St Mary’s voted a Man of the Match from clavering and chose Levi Draper, who was most definitely Man of the Match. Well done Levi. Clavering chose Joe from St Mary’s as their Man of the Match.

Clavering v Chrishall
The date was the 12th of March and Clavering were away at Chrishall. Both teams started very well. Chrishall looked to be the better team in the first few minutes. However, we started warming up and playing better football. We had a lot of chances on the attack in the first half but the score was still 0-0.
In the first few minutes into the second half we scored a goal by Elliot Wood as the ball hit the post and went in. Chrishall made a lot of subs which helped them through the game. Chrishall were hitting a lot of shots and George Oakes made some great saves in goal. The next goal came from a throw in. Elliot threw it into the box and the ball hit a Chrishall player and rebounded into the goal. It was a lucky goal but yet still a goal. Max also sent a wild clearance into the face of the opposition’s goal and nearly scored from behind the half way line.
The game finished as 2-0 to Clavering and it was a close game. The Chrishall team were being very good sportsmen and we enjoyed the banquet of food afterwards (cake, crisps, biscuits and sandwiches).

Clavering v Manuden
The Clavering team played again Manuden on the 19th of March, Thursday. Both teams started off well and the first half was close. Both teams had even chances and the game started off close. No goals were scored in the first half but they were all worn out.
The second half started off well by Levi Draper running the pitch and scoring straight after kick off. This knocked the team’s confidence up. Soon after Joseph Berrett dribbled past the Manuden defence and slotted the ball past the goalie. By then Manuden were panicking but still able to take a few shots on goal. Clavering goalie – George Oakes, was not phased though, saving them all.
In the last ten minutes goals were scored by Levi and Joseph with Jack finishing the game in the last minute first before the whistle blew. The end score was 5-0 to Clavering and adding to their four game win streak!
