Year 6 Cricket Tournament
On Wednesday 3rd June, Year 6 and two members of Year 5 went to a cricket tournament at Saffron Walden cricket club. The boys played in the morning and the girls played in the afternoon. The boys lost their first match quite convincingly as they played the previous winners of the Tournament.
The second game Clavering came out fighting and started off well. After our strong innings we had to field to our highest ability, to then win the game. The next game we started with great confidence from winning the last game. We got thrashed in our next match. Then, to finish off, the boys tournament we mixed with some of Elsenham against Rickling and the rest of Elsenham.
The Girls first game they lost as well, but they only lost by 10 runs. The next game they lost by 4 runs despite the efforts of the girls team. Their next game they also lost by 4 runs but they said they still had fun.

On Wednesday the 3rd of June Year six of Clavering Primary School went to Saffron Walden cricket club for a tournament. We had two teams, a boys’ team and a girls’ team. The boys played for the morning and the girls for the afternoon.
In the first match for the boys they played Rickling A team. The score for us was 186 runs to their 264 runs. In the second match we were playing Rickling B team and we won the game by a comfortable margin. In our third and final game we played against Elsenham and sadly lost. While the final was going on the team and Elsenham played together against the rest of Elsenham and Rickling for fun. Sadly yet again we lost but it didn’t count as a proper game!
In the afternoon the girls played their first match and was against Rickling which they lost by only ten points. The next two matches the girls played they narrowly lost, they were very unlucky the games could have gone either way.
