Thank you Mrs Ford
Clavering Primary School truly is a very special place with very special people.
At the end of the academic year, the school community said thank you and farewell to Mrs Ford who has been working in the school for the last 23 years! Mrs Ford has been an excellent Class teacher during this time and made a huge difference to the lives of many pupils, staff and families. She was also Acting Headteacher in between the appointment of Headteachers in the past and more recently, for the last 5 and half years, Deputy Headteacher.
We are very grateful to Mrs Ford for all that she has given to the school over the years, not only her excellent teaching but her subject leadership in Mathematics and Music to name a few. Mrs Ford has led the school choir for many years and events such as the Christmas productions and Clavering’s part in the Spirit of Christmas in Saffron Walden.
The school community assembled last week as part of a surprise Afternoon Tea! We cannot believe we managed to keep it from her but the team of staff, pupils and parents worked together to make the event a great success for her. It was very touching to see so many members of the community at the event and to receive such generous donations.
This event was followed by a Leavers’ Assembly the next morning when Mrs Ford was given her gifts. She also received cards and messages from each class along with songs and dances. Two pupils wrote and composed a song for her which was presented by the Year 6 pupils.
It was a very special occasion illustrating what a strong and supportive team we have. Thank you to everyone that contributed.
We will miss Mrs Ford very much but welcome her back as a regular supply teacher!!
Thank you Mrs Ford and we wish you well in your early retirement.
