A Magistrate visits Year 6

On Thursday 13th October, year 6 were visited by a local magistrate. She talked about her job and the different kinds of court: the Crown Court is for really big crimes such as burglaries and rioting; the Magistrates Court is for crimes such as speeding and drink driving.
Apparently 97% of crimes go to the magistrates court rather than the Crown Court.
We did an activity in groups of 3. One person was the magistrate and the other two were wingers and we had to decide out of 5 crimes, which we thought was the worst. It was an interesting afternoon.
