Year 5 trip to the Harlow Outdoor Centre
On Thursday 5thJuly, Class 5 went on an exciting trip to Harlow Outdoor Centre. When we got there we were split into two groups and began our first activity, raft building. Both teams were given four big barrels, two planks of wood with holes in and lots of ropes. In our teams we built our rafts using lots of knots that we had been taught to do. Then we tried them out in a race, one team’s came apart and the other one didn’t. We then did the bumble run, which involved jumping in a river sliding down a waterfall, practising fun jumps into the water and swimming in the river. Then we had lunch before learning how to kayak, which was fun because we did lots of different challenges like standing up in the kayaks. We had a brilliant day!
