Year 6 Football tournament
Year 6 children (and a couple of year 5’s) were selected to attend the football tournament at Herberts Farm on Wednesday 9th October. The boys played in the morning and demonstrated brilliant team work and scored some goals. The boys finished in a respectable joint 4th place. The girls had a muddy afternoon but just like the boys, showed fantastic team work! The girls came second, however had won the same amount of games as the winners but it was down to goal difference. Well done all our footballers for representing the school in a positive way!
Sport Ambassador training
Our Sports Ambassadors, Ruby, Tommie, Toben, Elliott and Joseph, went to Lord Butler for Sports Ambassador Training with Mrs Coleman (SWCHS). They took part in lots of activities with children from many local primary schools. First of all, the children mixed up into groups and then did, figure of eight challenge, skipping for a minute challenge, dot to dot and tennis ball challenge.
Joseph: “I thought it was really good to meet new people”.
Ruby: “I was in a group with children from different school and I really enjoyed the dot to dot challenge because it was fun but involved different movement”
Toben: “I was a little nervous at first when I joined my group as I did not know anyone. But after we did some games together they became my friends and we helped each other”.
Tommie: “I really enjoyed the Sports Ambassador Training because I learnt new tactics and skills that I can use when working with younger children”.
Elliott: “I enjoyed Sports Ambassador Training because I learnt new qualities that you need as an ambassador”.
A big Thank You to Mrs Martin for supporting the children during this event and she was pleased to report that the children were amazingly engaged and were not only Sports Ambassadors but ambassadors for Clavering Primary School. Well done!
Macmillan Coffee Morning
A huge thank you to all the people who kindly donated to the Macmillan Coffee Morning. We are pleased to announce we raised an amazing £520.27.
Governor Focus Morning
We had an informative and successful Governor Focus Morning last week. Our Governors came into school and spent time in each class, met with staff and children looking at areas linked to our School Improvement Priorities. We were very proud of the children.
Lateness
School starts at 8.50 a.m. We have noticed several children are consistently arriving late for school – ‘late’ is defined by not being within the school gates by 8.50 a.m. Please make every effort to be at school on time and if you know that your journey will be disrupted by road works, do allow time for this.
Please note that lateness is recorded on a per pupil basis and could add up to an ‘unauthorised’ absence.
Thank you.
