SEN Coffee Morning for parents
We have just had our first Inclusion Coffee Morning. This was attended by representatives from the MHST (Mental Health Support Team), Lily and Helen, parents, our inclusion governor, Julia and myself.
It was a very relaxed atmosphere, with tea, coffee and biscuits, with everyone sharing their experiences.
We discussed the Zones of Regulation programme we are delivering to the school community and individual support offered to parents by Lily.
It was lovely to see parents benefitting from the experiences of others, being able to empathise and offer ideas.
We are hoping to arrange another coffee morning next term and would welcome anyone who would like to come.
NSPCC Key Stage One and Two assembly
Over the last 2 weeks, the children have taken part in a KS1 or KS2 Speak Out, Stay Safe NSPCC assembly. The children were very attentive and listened to the important messages shared. The children also gave some excellent responses to the types of activities that make children feel happy and safe, we also discussed types of situations that make children feel worried and finally we listed some of the safe, trusted adults that we have around us that can help us with our worries.

| Years 3 and 4 Sports Hall Athletics
Year 3 and 4 had a fantastic afternoon at the recent athletics tournament. They took part in a range of field events, including javelin, standing long jump and speed bounce. Afterwards, the children were split into two teams for the track events, which featured an exciting mix of obstacle races, over and under challenges and various relays. Everyone gave their all, cheering one another on, showing brilliant teamwork. We are proud to share that we finished in first place and have secured a spot in the final! Well done to all the children for their hard work.

Teddy Bear Run with Lisa Dunlop
On Wednesday morning, the Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children all participated in the annual Teddy Bear run in the school hall due to the cold icy weather outside. There was great excitement amongst the children and it was lovely seeing the extensive range of teddies amongst the children. A most enjoyable morning for all!
Reception Class visit Audley End to see Father Christmas
| Reception Class had a magical time on Thursday visiting Father Christ mas on the Audley End train. There were lots of festive things to spot from the train and then the children helped the elves to fix the toy machine. We posted our letters to Father Christmas in the special post box and all received a lovely gift.
Thank you to all our parent helpers and to Mrs Draper who came with us.

Year 5 and 6 Tag Rugby
Last Thursday morning, a selection of the Year 5 and 6 children played in the Uttlesford Sports School Partnership Tag Rugby final at the Carver Barracks. It was a very cold morning to be outside playing rugby, but all the children played very well and enjoyed the tournament. Overall, the children came 2nd in their group. Well done to all the children participating and thank you to Mr Snelling, Mrs Yildiz and the parents for supporting the children, especially Mr Anderson for refereeing the games.

The children played games in the forest, created tightropes, witches and wizards appeared and plenty of snails collected! IMPORTANT Two John’s e-safety session
Thank you to all the parents that were able to attend the Two John’s E-safety session last week. As I have said I cannot stress enough how important it is that all parents watch this. It is eye opening.
It is vital we all work together to keep our children as safe as possible in the online world, a world that we cannot keep them from.
This link has a time limit of now 21 days and we have been asked not to download it or save it anywhere. It can be circulated and shared with parents.
PLEASE WATCH IT!

Drop off times and key messages for class teachers
If you would like a message to given to your child’s class teacher, before school, then please catch the person on duty by the gate leading on to the playground. It is usually myself. These messages will be given to the class teacher before school.
Class teachers cannot meet with parents during this time as they are with the children in their classrooms. Appointments or telephone calls can be made upon request at a mutually convenient time.
Thank you for your support with this.

Dear Parents and Residents of Clavering,
On behalf of the Clavering Parish Council, the Steering Group are undertaking the development of the Clavering Neighbourhood Plan. We wanted to take this opportunity to update you on the current progress, but also to highlight the need for a neighbourhood plan and to gain your support in its preparation.
What is a neighbourhood plan?
Following the government’s stated aim to increase the number of houses built, the local district council has designated Clavering as one of the larger villages and as such it is required to accommodate 116 new houses over the next 15 years. The availability of a neighbourhood plan allows the residents to have a much greater say in where these houses are built, what they look like and what additional facilities/infrastructure may be required.
In the absence of a plan, Uttlesford District Council will decide where these houses are built, and residents will have no say.
What are the Steering Group doing?
Currently the Steering Group is collecting evidence from residents on what is important to them about the village, how they would like the new houses to look and what facilities are essential to them. In addition, we are obtaining evidence from the landowners and potential developers so that potential sites can be evaluated as possible candidates for these new houses.
We very much need your input to ensure this plan is appropriate for the whole village. As such, we are holding a meeting in the Village Hall on 14th January at 6.30pm. Free refreshments will be available, and we would be delighted to see you there and to hear your views. If you cannot attend, you can contact us on or via our website www.claveringnp.co.uk
Kind regards
Rachel Tallon (Chair of Clavering Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group)
