A Huge Thank You to our Parents !
We would like to say a very big thank you to all our parents that either gave up their time, donated money or resources to refurbish key parts of the school this summer.
Over four days in July, a group of parent volunteers, supported by substantial donations of both time and money from parents and local businesses, came together to transform and refresh areas across the school.
A huge amount of time and hard work was given by our parent volunteers: Amelia Berner, Yasmine Brown, Nadira Bullock, Daisy Clarke, Sarah Cutsforth, Michelle Eltis, Ruth Faraci, Jeremy Faraci, Yasmine Foreman, Dee Haldane, Michael Hallam, Laura Hagger, Morgan Haselden, Kristine Haselup, Kelly James, Maria Lawrence, Kamila Melia, Icxlan Nardi, Charys Palmer, Jack Saxton and Charlotte Saxton.
Holli Thomas also ran childcare throughout the project, enabling parents with younger children to take part.
Together, the team tackled an ambitious list of improvements and achieved an extraordinary amount:
- The allotments were completely cleared and the raised beds rebuilt, ready for planting during the autumn term.
- A new Butterfly Garden and quiet area was created using donated wildflower turf.
- The Friendship Garden was overhauled to create a more welcoming and inclusive area for children to spend time and play.
- Play bark was refreshed across the school.
- The Reception outdoor area was transformed, including new mud kitchens, a water wall and replacement fencing.
- Playground benches and railings were repainted.
- The much-loved play train was given a complete repaint.
- All classrooms and corridors were repainted.
- A new set of aprons was made for the Design & Technology room.
- New curtains were made for the school hall.
The project was also made possible by the extraordinary generosity of local businesses, who donated materials, professional expertise and other support:

We are enormously grateful to everyone who volunteered, donated materials, provided professional expertise or contributed financially. It was a genuine community effort, and the difference around the school is remarkable.
Thank you to Ruth Faraci for suggesting this project and overseeing all the work and Kelly James for providing professional decorators for 6 days!
A huge thank you also to the parents that donated money to support us in replacing the school dishwasher, which would have been a huge cost to the school.
We are blown away by everyone’s kindness and generosity. Here are some photos of the great work….
