Year 6 Bikeability
Year 6 had a valuable and informative week on their Bikeability course with Mrs Wright and Mrs Palmer during the week leading up to half term. The children all achieved level 1 or 2 Bikeability and enjoyed the sessions under a variety of weather conditions! We are pleased that they are now well informed and qualified to ride their bikes on the roads safely.
Harvest
Thank you all for your generous harvest donations. They will be given to Bishop’s Stortford Food Bank.
Cross Country
On Wednesday 31st October years 2, 5 and 6 went to JFAN for a cross country event. Everyone ran their hardest and represented the school well. The years 5 and 6 boys’ and girls’ teams all got through to the next round of the tournament in 2 weeks’ time.
Everyone ran extremely well but a special mention to medal winners:
Gold: Seraphina (Y6) and Toby (Y2)
Silver: Grace (Y6), Chloe (Y2), Joshua (Y2)
Bronze: Matilda (Y5) and Anna (Y2)

Years 3 and 4 visit Colchester Castle
Years 3 & 4 had a fabulous time at Colchester Castle on Wednesday. We saw lots of interesting Roman artefacts and had fun building roundhouses and a Roman temple. We went beneath the castle where it was dark and smelly! We were told lots of stories about the Roman invasion. The children thoroughly enjoyed the day and were extremely polite and well behaved.
Halloween Disco
Last night the Halloween disco took place. Thank you Rachel Betts and her Friends of Clavering team for organising it and especially to Rachel for being an amazing DJ. The children had a wonderful time.
Cartoon Attitude Learning Awards
We have our super hero learning behaviours, which the children created in their house groups during friendship week last year. Last half term the children worked hard on co-operation, championed by “Co-Octopus”. Two children from each class were nominated for a special award and will enjoy a hot chocolate treat with Miss Allsop. This half term we will be working on resilience through the hero “Resileroo!” –
